1911 Sunset Blvd - - phone: (213) 484-1265 As part of the "traditional Taix dinner" you get a tureen of their famous Soup du Jour for all at the table to share. It is always something different, and always super yummy. The chef who makes this soup REALLY knows what they're doing! Delicious - and the big bowl they give you is enough for everyone in your party to have several bowls, if desired. 6667 Hollywood Blvd - - phone: (323) 467-7788 Traditional Martini served in a small glass, with extra glassful served on the side. Fab. 41 South DeLacey Street - - phone: (626) 795-4141 Done tableside, with all fresh ingredients and homemade croutons - this salad is fantastic. Beware - it's huge and filling, so if you're ordering this as your first course you may not have room for dinner! See website for locations and phone numbers Since my junior high years, my favorite restaurant to get a really great burger. They have a choice of different burgers and toppings - no matter which burger you choose, it's always good. In earlier years, I always ordered hamburger #9 - the "Everything On It" Burger. I still love that one. Other favorites of mine these days: #25 The Nacho Burger, #16 The French Onion Burger, and #4 The Marilyn Burger. Whatever burger you choose - they're all really juicy and great. 4420 West Lakeside Drive - - phone: (818) 845-3731 As stated on their website "We are known for the world's greatest garlic bread, but don't take our word for it! Come in and try it yourself" - we did, and boy ain't it the truth. A basket of sliced, cheesy, baked garlic bread from the Smoke House - yum! 285 W. Huntington Dr. - - phone: (626) 574-1035 Big shrimp; tasty sauce; fresh and delicious. Who could ask for more? 168 W. Colorado Boulevard - - phone: (626) 793-2233 I have had Calamari at a number of different restaurants around town - when we ate at Sorriso recently and ordered their "Crisp Calamari" as an appetizer, I thought - this is it, the best in town! Fried in a yummy tasting batter, this Calamari is indeed crispy - and full of flavor, including a nice dipping sauce. Really good. 8976 Huntington Dr - - phone: (626) 286-1484 A huge, comfortable restaurant with lots of long, family-style tables and big screen TVs showing a variety of sports surrounding the room. As we call it - "the Boat" has great burgers, salads, sandwiches, and other food, plus tasty beer. I love this place. This restaurant is family-friendly, feel fine in bringing your kids here. Just look for the great big boat! NEWS: torn down! But here is the latest on their website - "The Galley is temporarily closed for relocation and remodeling. Look for us just a few doors down in the Fall of 2007!" 317 N Brand Blvd - - phone: (818) 507-1510 I have had a lot of Mai Tai's around town over the years - Damon's offers a strong, rum-laden concoction that isn't too sweet and has an EXTRA special flavor to it. A feeling of euphoria comes over you after a couple of these - plus the kick everyone seems to get from these drinks leaves the whole bar area full of happy, noisy patrons living it up! Love it. 6333 West 3rd Street, Suite 432 - - phone: (323) 936-5379 Well, what can I say? This is just the best I've had - it practically melts in your mouth, yum! I have always enjoyed the Mackinac Island Fudge we get at the L.A. County Fair each year, but Littlejohn's is even better. |
